What if Dazzler was a character in her own right?
Hold up. Are you really trying to insinuate I am relegating Alison to a character whose importance is based around her relationship to a man, without having any value of her own?
Because I think that would be a pretty…
Nah man, I’m just saying that she doesn’t need to be a love interest right now. She needs to be herself and find comfort in her new personal status quo. Obviously characters Cyclops date are awesome (Emma Frost #1) but Dazzler shouldn’t be a candidate just cos she’s in the vicinity and she got boobies.
By that logic, why haven’t Cyclops and Magik bumped uglies yet?
But by what logic, though? I never gave a reason for why I considered it. You are applying a motivation I never provide.
I think there is a good vibe between the two, and they had some moments in the San Francisco/Utopia era. Scott showed a trust in who she was and her abilities, he does not normally vocalize.
The scene during the Fraction run where Alison talks about Scott and Emma as a couple, and questions what happens if they can’t make it, has stuck with me for a while.
Now after everything that has happened in both of their lives, they would be together on the same team, and Scott is no longer with Emma. I figured there was enough tinder to possibly start a fire.
I have not suggested Magik, because it is not a paring I see a story potential for, just as I have not suggested Eva, even though she has shown an interest in him.
Beyond that, it is clear now the direction of her story is going in very different places, and I am more than happy with it.
PS: Your new name is much easier to pronounce.
Didn’t Dazzler already date an alternate universe version of Cyclops? So it’s not exactly completely out of nowhere. Though it seems like Bendis has been setting up Tempus as Cyclops’ love interest. My guess is that she spent several years in the time bubble in Uncanny #18, enough to age her up to the point where it’s no longer creepy.
